Beijing has recently announced the extension of visa-free access to travelers from an additional nine countries, aiming to further promote cross-border travel and enhance international connections, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian reported on Friday.
This new visa-free policy applies to ordinary passport holders from:
- Slovakia
- Norway
- Finland
- Denmark
- Iceland
- Andorra
- Monaco
- Liechtenstein
- South Korea
According to Lin, this policy will be effective from November 8, 2024, until December 31, 2025, as part of a trial initiative to boost tourism, foster business exchanges, and encourage cultural connections.
Ordinary passport holders from these nine countries will be able to enter China without a visa and remain in the country for up to 15 days, provided their purpose of travel falls within the scope of business, tourism, family visits, or transit.
This decision aligns with China’s broader strategy to open its doors to more global visitors and expand its international ties.
By simplifying travel procedures, China hopes to encourage a steady flow of tourists and business travelers, potentially stimulating its economy and enriching cultural exchange.
With this new policy, China demonstrates its commitment to fostering deeper connections with Europe, Asia, and beyond, making travel between these regions more convenient for those seeking to explore the opportunities and experiences China has to offer.
