Beijing has launched COVID-19 vaccinations for foreign nationals residing in the city, according to an announcement by the municipal foreign affairs office on Friday.
Foreign nationals aged 18 and above are eligible to receive the vaccine voluntarily, based on informed consent and an understanding of personal risk. The vaccinations will use China’s inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, requiring two doses.
Foreign residents interested in being vaccinated can check notifications issued by their employers, schools, or local community offices to make appointments through these institutions.
Once appointments are confirmed, they can receive the vaccine at a nearby location arranged by local district authorities. A valid passport and residence permit must be presented at the vaccination site.
Those who participate in Beijing’s social medical insurance scheme can receive the vaccine free of charge by presenting their insurance documents. Individuals not covered by this insurance can still receive the vaccine at a cost of 93.5 yuan (approximately 14.4 US dollars) per dose.
