On March 3, Virgin Atlantic announced on their Official WeChat account (virginchina) that they have been granted approval by the CAAC to operate trial direct flights between London and Shanghai, starting from the middle of March.
The agreement allowed Virgin Atlantic to operate the flights as follows:
- The London to Shanghai flights will be operated with a restriction on load factor
- The Shanghai to London flights will have no load factor restriction.
