On 25 April, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning organized a routine press conference during which she announced that China will further optimize remote testing arrangements based on the principles of scientific accuracy, security and order.
Beginning on April 29, Mao Ning said:
- All travelers arriving in China may replace nucleic acid testing with antigenic testing within 48 hours of boarding.
- Airlines will no longer check the test certificates before boarding.
