Singapore Airlines will suspend two flights to China from Singapore for regulatory reasons

Singapore Airlines will cease two flights to China from Singapore: Chengdu and Chongqing on March 31 after failing to obtain consent from local authorities to continue flying to the two cities.

According to the Straits Times, an airline spokesman stated that the suspension is due to “regulatory reasons” without going into further.

Flights were similarly canceled in 2023 and returned in November.

Singapore is the latest Southeast Asian country to waive visa requirements for Chinese visitors, with a bilateral waiver effective February 9.
