Malaysian Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong announced last week that the CAAC approved 12 more direct flights to China from Malaysia increasing the number of flights from 3 to 15. The number of cities being served will also increase to 7.
The 12 new flights will be split between the four local airlines namely:
- Malaysia Airlines (3 flights to Xiamen)
- Batik Air (3 flights to Chengdu)
- Air Asia (2 flights to Shenzhen + 1 flight to Kunming)
- Air Asia X (2 flights to Hangzhou + 1 flight to Changsha)
