The CAAC has shortened the suspension period for international flights to China where COVID-19 cases are known to be reported on or after August 7.

The CAAC announced in a statement that a flight route with 5 identified coronavirus cases will be suspended for:
- One week if 4% of the flight passengers tested positive for the coronavirus.
- Two weeks if 8% of the flight passengers test positive for the coronavirus.
In the past, it was the policy of the CAAC that a route would be suspended for:
- Two weeks, if between 5 and 9 passengers tested positive for the coronavirus.
- Four weeks, if 10+ passengers are positive.
