According to the company’s press service, the flights to China from Kazakhstan will resume with Almaty-Chengdu flights once again operated by national airline Air Astana beginning on February 15.
Wednesdays will see flights from Almaty to Chengdu, and Thursdays will see flights from Chengdu to Almaty.
Starting on March 18 of this year, Air Astana will also resume operating on the Astana-Beijing route.
The national airline also intends to expand the frequency of flights between Almaty and Beijing from once a week to four starting on March 2 to daily flights throughout the summer.
After stopping operations with China in March 2020 owing to the epidemic, the airline resumed flights to Beijing on November 22 of the previous year. More than 1.1 million passengers were moved in this direction between 2002 and 2020.
