In this article, I am listing the Chinese embassies that have issued an entry ban, flight requirements for health code applications, or a 14-day quarantine requirement for Chinese citizens residing in those countries.
Entry Ban List
As of March 5, 2021, there is an entry ban on non-Chinese nationals from the following
13 12 countries even if they hold a valid residence permit for work, family reunion, or personal affairs in China. The entry ban does not apply to those who secured a Chinese visa after the entry ban date.
The list is as follows (click on the country’s name to view the related Chinese embassy notice):
Flight requirement for issuing the health code
Passengers from the following 12 countries need to take only direct flights to travel to China for the Chinese embassy to accept applications for the health code.
The countries list is as follows (click on the country’s name to view the related Chinese embassy notice):

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding, but how is France on all 3 lists? Surely by being on the first list, they are not allowed in to China at all so the inclusion on the other 2 lists is redundant?
Excellent question! Actually the three lists have different purposes and let’s use France as an example here:
– The entry ban list related to non-Chinese nationals in France who currently hold a valid residence permit for work, family reunion or personal matters. It does not apply to those who secured a China Visa after the entry ban date.
– The second list states that in order for those who secured a visa in France to China are required to take only direct flights and no transit flights allowed to go there. Otherwise the Chinese embassy in France wouldn’t accept the health code application.
– Finally the third list applied to Chinese nationals residing in France and working for Chinese companies or China-funded projects. They are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine
BEFORE travel to China and again on direct flights.
Actually, if you click on the country’s name in any of those lists, it will take you to the respective Chinese embassy notice issued in that regard (I should probably add a note about that, Thanks!)
I hope this answers your question, if need any follow-ups then feel free to continue on this thread.
