What China New Quarantine Policies Mean For You

The National Health Commission recently published a notice regarding China New Quarantine Policies titled “Further Optimizing COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures in a Scientific and Accurate Way.”

To summarize the full text’s purpose: to improve scientific and accurate prevention and control, as well as to optimize and adjust prevention and control measures!

Note: Please be aware that we do not have the effective date of these policies below!

“5 days concentrated isolation + 3 days home isolation” quarantine rule

Adjust “7 days of concentrated isolation + 3 days of home health monitoring” to “5 days concentrated isolation + 3 days home isolation.”

During the 5 days of hotel quarantine, you are not allowed to leave your room.

On the first, second, third, and fifth day of the centralized isolation medical observation, as well as the first and third days of the isolated home medical observation, a PCR test will be performed.

For inbound flights, the circuit breaker mechanism is gone!

There are no more fuses, so you no longer need to be afraid of not being able to return to China.

In the past when the previous flight was suspended, the following flight you purchased was temporarily cancelled and could not fly!

Note: The cancellation’s implementation date is subject to further notification from the Civil Aviation Authority.

1 PCR test required within 48 hours of boarding

Pre-flight testing requirements were changed to only one PCR test within 48 hours of boarding from the previous rule of having to do two PCR tests.
